Explosion proof cranes

We have particular experience of manufacturing explosion proof equipment. We manufacture a range of electric wire rope hoists for use in zone 1 areas up to 100 ton capacity, some with very high heights of lift. This illustration shows a 10 ton unit for use on a monorail for the Alba platform supplied to Chevron.

Our equipment can be used both on and offshore.This dramatic picture shows the Shell Carrington refinery and our 20 ton crane which can just be seen within the compressor building. This particular crane was explosion proof and also radio controlled.

We recently supplied our largest crane ever, a 32 ton capacity by 34.5 m span crane, supplied to Alstom Gas Turbines, for Tengiz refinery in Kazakstan. The crane was shipped overland from our workshops in the West Midlands, via Finland, through Russia, by rail and road. This picture shows the crane negotiating the narrow streets near our works, during its police escorted journey.

Other recent projects include 31 explosion proof single and double girder cranes for the giant Jamnagar refinery in India, the largest refinery in the world. We have also supplied 5 cranes including two 40 ton explosion proof cranes to Bechtel Linde for the Borouge project in Abu Dhabi.
