J.Barnsley goliath & semi-goliath cranes are explosion protected for use in Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous areas worldwide. Available in different capacities upto 100Te they are designed to run on forged wheels running on rails either at ground or a predetermined level. Goliath & Semi-Goliath cranes are suitable for control from floor level, by means of a pendant controller suspended from the crane bridge or by radio control.
There are several advantages to using a goliath crane. Goliath cranes are more easy to dismantle for relocation to another site. They also remove the need to purchase expensive new supporting stanchions, excess steel work and foundations for columns approximately every 6 meters. Due to the design of goliath cranes they also provide more room for work operations such as forklift movement around the site.
It is quite common for our goliath cranes to be fitted with two crab units to allow for tandem lifts. In situations with ultra-wide loads this keeps the weight spread across the span of the crane.
Semi-goliath cranes excel when used with a building or vessel which can only support a crane at high level one one side. While one side runs on ground rails the other side will be supported by steel work at a pre-determined level.
